Robins Foods Pty Ltd is a
procurer, manufacturer and marketer of Australian native food products.
Since 1986 we (Ian Robins and Juleigh Robins, Directors of Robins Foods),
have pioneered the incorporation of native foods into Australian cuisine.
As we have increased our knowledge about these remarkable foods, we have
also learned a great deal about Aboriginality through our on-going relationships
with a number of Aboriginal communities throughout Australia and have an
appreciation for both the opportunities and difficulties within many of
the Aboriginal communities we deal with.
Robins Foods is committed to the meaningful inclusion of Aboriginal people
in the growing native foods industry. Robins are also committed to the environmentally
sustainable growth of the native foods industry and the preservation and
enhancement of flora and fauna biodiversity that is an integral part of it.
Robins also work closely with the traditional agricultural sector in Australia.
Many farmers have embraced native food agriculture for landcare reasons as well
as income diversification. Apart from working with farmers within our own supply
chain Robins also work on a voluntary basis with Greening Australia and many
State Government Regional Development organisations throughout Australia delivering
workshops and practical information/advice to farmers about entry into the native
foods industry in an environmentally sustainable way.
Robins Foods and its supply chain have recently become closely aligned to the
Australian Museum in support of its FATE (Future of Australia’s threatened
ecosystems) program. Both Robins and FATE are working to preserve and enhance
the biodiversity of Australia’s flora and fauna through the adoption and
expansion of a native foods agriculture.
Robins Foods’ flagship brand is “Outback Spirit” which is available
in retail and foodservice products for the domestic and export markets.
